Diego Maradona passes away at the age of 60.

25/11/2020. A dark day in football history as 

Diego Armando Maradona, one of the greatest Argentinean footballers & 1986 World Cup hero passed away today leaving behind shattered hearts and grieving fans.

On 2 November 2020, Maradona was admitted to a hospital in La Plata, Buenos Aires, supposedly for psychological reasons. A representative said his condition was not serious. A day later, he underwent emergency brain surgery to treat a subdural hematoma.He was released on 12 November after successful surgery and was supervised by doctors as an outpatient. Maradona died of a cardiac arrest at his home in Tigre, Buenos Aires, Argentina. 

In a statement on social media, the Asociación del Fútbol Argentino expressed "its deepest sorrow for the death of our legend", adding: "You will always be in our hearts." President Alberto Fernández announced three days of national mourning.

 Dubbed as "El Pibe de Oro"("The Golden Kid"), Diego played for Argentinos Juniors, Boca Juniors, FC Barcelona, S.S.C.Napoli, Sevilla FC and Newell's Old Boys during his club career (491 Games and 259 Goals), and is most famous for his time at Napoli and Barcelona where he won numerous accolades.With Argentina, he earned 91 caps and scored 34 goals.

As a Coach he managed Deportivo Mandiyú, Racing Club, Argentina, Al-Wasl, Deportivo Riestra, Fujairah, Dorados de Sinaloa, and Gimnasia de La Plata until his untimely death.
