EL CLASSICO IS BLAUGRANA!

"Never write off FC Barcelona" - Gerrard Pique (probably)

Of all the defeats in the world, a defeat against your eternal rivals is the one that hurts most.

FC Barcelona was entering the Santiago Bernabeu having won their last Classico way back in 2019. Over a thousand days and a MASSIVE squad shift later, Barca, under the mentorship of Xavi Hernandez, managed to cripple the Laliga leaders at home with a thumping 4-0 victory. Aubameyang, Ferran Torres, and Ronald Araujo were able to beat Thibaut Courtois on multiple occasions to spoil La Real's 120th birthday.

Real Madrid C.F. had a big problem to begin with after they found out that Karim Benzema would miss the game due to a calf injury. Los Blancos decided to field a 4-2-4 with Vini Junior, Fede Valverde, Luka Modric, and Rodrygo upfront.  Xavi placed the Culers in a standard 4-3-3 with Ferran Torres, Aubameyang and the rejuvenated Dembele leading the attack.

From the start of the game till the final kick, La Blaugrana seemed to be in complete control as they managed to find vital passes and hammer two goals in the first 45'.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (9 goals in 11 games) silenced all critics who said that he was past his best (once again) as he managed to hit the double and assist Ferran Torres' goal.

The win last night was not only a statement win for the players but for the team as a whole as the victory now proves that Barcelona is a team that can go toe-to-toe against any opponent. While it would seem like Barca's banter era has ended, it is still a long way on the road to redemption.

The win leaves Barcelona at ELEVEN unbeaten games across all competitions as they are trying to conquer the UEFA Europa league and guarantee themselves a UEFA Champions league spot for the next season.
