Jhon Durán's journey embodies extraordinary resilience.

In Medellín, Colombia, where poverty was a constant reality, football became his escape and his path to a better life. He rose through the ranks at Envigado FC, a club renowned for producing stars like James Rodríguez, and at just 17, he became one of the youngest goalscorers in the Colombian top flight.

His remarkable talent led to a transfer to MLS' Chicago Fire in 2021. He quickly adapted, scoring 8 goals in his debut season and demonstrating his potential on the world stage. This performance attracted the attention of European scouts, culminating in Aston Villa signing him for €18M in January 2023, with a €3.9M annual salary. After 78 appearances and 20 goals, including a standout Champions League campaign that secured the final automatic qualification spot for the Villans, a life-changing opportunity presented itself.

Al Nassr made him an offer he couldn't refuse: €20M per year, tax-free, playing alongside the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo.
